Another 16 enterprises to be set up at the Tashkent Mechanical Plant
On June 28, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Tashkent Mechanical Plant in the Yashnabad district.
Today, more than 10 enterprises operate here in this complex, employing more than 2.5 thousand people. However, this scarcely corresponds to the potential of this massive venture covering an area of 141 hectares. A technological park was organized at the plant for the effective mobilization of its capacities.
The head of state reviewed the projects to be implemented in the technological park.
Thus, in 2019-2020, another 16 enterprises with a total value of almost 385 million US dollars are planned to be commissioned. They are envisaged to produce more than 1 million washing machines, 1 million cookers, the same amount of household refrigerators, 75 thousand commercial refrigerators and freezers, 700 thousand electric water heaters, 550 thousand hydraulic pumps, 80 thousand industrial air conditioners, 2 thousand elevators and escalators as well as aluminum and bimetallic radiators, accessories, sandwich panels, linoleum and other goods. It is expected to create about 9 thousand jobs and export produce at nearly $ 185 million a year.
The President noted that for the steady operation of enterprises, what is required is regular customers, and that it would be helpful to establish cooperation with factories abroad and manufacture products and spare parts needed by them. Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the officials to come up with new projects, ensure rational allocation of production, taking into account the needed jobs and available resources.
Uzbekistan’s leader also was briefed about plans to attract foreign direct investment in the districts of Tashkent and boost the export capacities of the city.
