Children’s medical center to serve as hub in its specialization
The cutting-edge outfitted children’s multidimensional medical center, being built in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent together with South Korea’s Economic Development and Cooperation Fund, is projected to comprise 4 four-storey blocks. It will boast the state-of-the-art equipment worth more than 42 million US dollars. It is said to allow for high-precision diagnostics and effective treatment of childhood diseases.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the construction works at the facility.
“Due to erroneous diagnosis and lack of medical qualification, sick kids and their parents have faced difficulties, and if the disease is serious, the child could be left with health problems. What is most important about this center is that it will be the base institution for the rest of its counterparts in our country. Telemedicine will also help children in remote areas,” the head of our state pointed out.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev insisted that more attention be paid to training specialists. Cooperation with South Korea is established effectively on this front. Thus, 19 doctors have improved their qualifications at Pusan Nation University. Many more physicians, nurses, and information technology experts are waiting to be sent abroad for internship.
Next to this institution, a multidisciplinary medical center for adults is intended to be built, also in cooperation with the Republic of Korea. Designed for 300 beds, the clinic is to have departments for cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, endovascular surgery, angio-neurology and orthopedics. More than 8 thousand high-tech operations a year can be conducted on the spot.
